The increased blood flow (vasodilatation) to the treated area is typically six times that of the blood flow to the same anatomical area during resting conditions. Analgesic Effects

The application of infrared heat provides a sedative effect upon the sensory nerve endings and ultimately leads to a relaxation within the tissues (especially muscle tissue). The increased blood flow speeds the rate at which waste products, such as prostaglandins, bradykinin and histamine, are removed from a cell. Waste products contribute to the nerve fiber sensitization and pain felt by your horse

Tests have shown that there is a decrease in the viscosity of the synovial fluid within the joint, thus allowing it to function in an enhanced state of lubrication.

Free radicals are highly reactive molecules that contain one or more unpaired electrons. They circulate through the body causing great mischief in bonding to and injuring tissues. In addition to destroying tissue, they magnify the probability that injured cells will become susceptible to further damage.

Thermotex™ helps to create powerful, natural electrolytes that can act as acceptors or as donors to create electrochemical balance. If the electrolytes encounter free radicals with unpaired positive electrons, they supply an equal and opposite negative charge to neutralize the bad effects of the free radicals.
